  8. District heating market survey | Heat suppliers please respond

    The heat network industry is growing, and so is interest from politicians, the media and the general public. Yet publically available information about the size of the market, number of connections, and the types and locations of schemes is very limited and often out of date. Last year heat suppliers were required to submit information to comply with heat network metering and billing regulations, but the Government indicated that it is not in a position to share this data more widely at the moment. In order to build a more accurate and publically available picture of the heat network industry in the UK the ADE is calling on heat suppliers to submit similar information as part of a district heating data collection project.

    The ADE submitted a response to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and Ofgem joint Smart Energy Call for Evidence, which outlines Government’s plans to increase participation of flexibility providers in energy markets where it benefits consumers.

    The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) consulted on the SAP model related to dwellings, which proposes changes to how SAP assesses the energy performance of homes, which the ADE submitted has submitted a response to.

  18. Euroheat and Power Country by Country Survey

    “Country by Country” is the most comprehensive compilation of statistics and analysis on the district heating and cooling market in more than 30 countries. EHP are now collecting data for the 2017 version and have requested ADE members and Associates to contribute to the data collection where possible.

    Government published a consultation on proposed changes to SAP on 16th of November 2016. SAP is the software used to assess compliance of new homes with Part L of the Building Regulations (Conservation of fuel and power).
