The heat network industry is growing, and so is interest from politicians, the media and the general public. Yet publically available information about the size of the market, number of connections, and the types and locations of schemes is very limited and often out of date. Last year heat suppliers were required to submit information to comply with heat network metering and billing regulations, but the Government indicated that it is not in a position to share this data more widely at the moment. In order to build a more accurate and publically available picture of the heat network industry in the UK the ADE is calling on heat suppliers to submit similar information as part of a district heating data collection project.

EHP are now collecting data for the 2017 version and have requested ADE members and Associates to contribute to the data collection where possible.
Government published a consultation on proposed changes to SAP on 16th of November 2016. SAP is the software used to assess compliance of new homes with Part L of the Building Regulations (Conservation of fuel and power).
