About Cargill's Manchester site:
Cargill has been operating in Manchester since 2002 and employs around 300 people. The Manchester site houses its UK sweeteners, industrial starches and texturant businesses.
Cargill’s Manchester sweeteners plant is a production facility at the hub of the UK food and beverage industries. The plant and offices located in Manchester are part of the Cargill starches and sweeteners business which produces sweeteners and wheat proteins for food customers. These include customers in the confectionery, brewing, beverage, dairy and bakery sectors.
In addition to the food sector, the Manchester plant also serves the needs of the farming and aquaculture sectors with animal feed products and vital wheat gluten.
Recently, Cargill expanded its activities in Manchester by acquiring Royal Nedalco, one of the market leaders in premium potable and industrial alcohol in Europe. This plant will now serve the spirit, food, pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetics industries.
