Digital innovation in heat networks is the topic of a morning seminar for housing professionals – hosted by industry body The Housing Forum, together with community heating specialist Switch2 Energy.
The free interactive workshop will take place at The Housing Forum in central London on Friday 31 March and is open to housing managers with an interest in heat networks.
Ian Allan, Head of R&D at Switch2 Energy, will present a future vision of digital connected homes. He will explain how technology, such as smart metering, can benefit residents of district and community heating schemes, and the housing organisations that operate the heat networks.
The seminar will include a video demonstration of connected homes and the opportunities this presents for heat networks, followed by a group discussion on how housing professionals can exploit the benefits of digitalisation.
In a presentation titled ‘Fixing our broken housing market’, Shelagh Grant, Chief Executive of The Housing Forum, will present analysis of the Government’s recent Housing White Paper and current issues facing the housing sector.
Simon Trevenna, UK Implementation Manager (Heat) at the new Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), will update delegates on the Heat Network Regulations (Metering & Billing) 2014, and how this will affect the heat sector.
The free workshop will take place at The Housing Forum's headquarters, at Minster Lane, in the City of London, from 10am to 2pm, including a networking lunch.
