Energy Secretary, the Rt. Hon. Edward Davey MP has today announced a draft Energy Bill, aimed at supporting investment in low-carbon electricity generation in the coming decades. The Bill aims to replace existing investment support with complex and controversial proposals for a Contracts-for-Difference Feed-In Tariff. There are widespread concerns that the complexity of the new proposals will undermine the existing momentum in renewables investment and act as a barrier to many companies to invest and trade in the UK electricity market.
