The Association for Decentralised Energy's 50th Anniversary Awards will be held at the Science Museum on 19th October 2017. The annual Awards showcase innovation, best practice and achievements across combined heat and power, district heating and demand side energy services, and provide an opportunity for organisations and professionals from across the growing sector to celebrate success and collective attainment.
This year's Awards will be held at the fascinating Science Museum. The Awards will be presented in the Imax Theatre followed by dinner underneath the planes in the Flight gallery.

The Essence of the Awards
In the ADE’s 50th year – and the 10th year of the Awards – we are taking the opportunity to celebrate a decade of innovation and inspiration, of delivery and determination. We want to hear the impact your project has had in terms of carbon, cost, social value and/or policy shift. We want to see the difference you’ve made to your customers or your onsite efficiency, and recognise the schemes and ideas that have truly advanced our industry.
We are looking for good news stories to help celebrate and promote our industry’s achievements. We want to hear how your project made a difference, about the journey you took people on and the impact you’ve made.
The entry forms are short and have been designed to help you tell your story. The entries must be technically robust, but we’re looking for a human angle too. How did it come about? What was the need? Who did you work with? What challenges did you face? What was your solution? What impact did it have?
There are eight award categories:
- Industrial Project of the Decade
- Commercial Project of the Decade
- Public Sector Project of the Decade
- Home and Communities Project of the Decade
- Integrated Energy Project of the Decade
- Innovation Project of the Decade
- Customer Engagement Project of the Decade
- Visionary Project Award
Applications close on the 28th April.
Awards Masterclass 21st March
To help ADE members and non-members develop the strongest possible entries for the Awards we hosted a Masterclass to share tips and advice based on ten years of developing awards entries to help attendees better represent projects and appeal to our judges.
At the event, members of our organising team gave ideas and advice on how to showcase your decentralised energy, district heating, CHP or demand side energy project so that it has the best chance of success. Over drinks and canapes with members of the ADE team, industry representatives and other attendees shared their experiences and discussed their projects. For a copy of the Masterclass slideshow, please see the following document.
