Business Development Officer/Events Co-ordinator
We’re recruiting a Business Development Officer/Events Co-ordinator to support membership growth and the delivery of an exciting and ambitious programme of conferences and networking events.

- Salary: £25k - £28k p.a. dependent upon experience
- Contract: 12-month contract, with option to become permanent

About the role
This is a new role created in response to our growing membership base and events profile. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to shape the role and make it their own. The goal is to ensure membership growth, develop exciting content for our events and increase revenue.
A key function is to provide administrative support to the Business Development Manager to support member recruitment and retention. This could include managing and responding to member queries, facilitating meetings with potential new members and ensuring potential new leads are actioned.
In parallel, you will coordinate ADE conferences and events throughout the year, including our headline Heat and Decentralised Energy conference, sector specific member conferences and our black-tie annual Awards Dinner, which attracts up to 500 guests at high profile venues. These events bring together industry leaders, key stakeholders, parliamentarians and ministers.
You will seek sponsorship for these events, manage budgets and have responsibility for reviewing financial performance with the management team.
Developing additional networking events outside of London to better support our members will also be a key part of this role.

Experience in event management would be of value but we are keen to hear from applicants with the right personality and transferable skills.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and organisational skills. You should enjoy engaging with new people and maintaining relationships and you will have a proven ability to manage your own budgets.
You will have the confidence to seek sponsorship and financial support for our events and manage ADE employees in the successful delivery of our events calendar.
