A small bakery site operating 9-5pm Monday to Saturday and 10-2pm Sunday. No heating system is present at the site as the heat generated by the four electric ovens in the shop area produce sufficient ambient heat. The main problem on site is overheating in summer and the occupiers take full advantage of natural ventilation by opening upstairs windows to create a natural through draft.
The Energy Audit identified that the two highest areas of energy use were the lights and the fridges. Ecofit projects were carried out in each of these areas. With some adjustments the Bakery was able to save 11% on their electricity bill optimising their fridges and altering lighting.
