Finning has a global reputation for developing CHP solutions that are durable, economic and reliable; ranging from 0.4MWe to 4MWe and covering a wide variety of biofuels as well as natural gas fired systems. We use highly efficient heat exchangers to harvest heat from the engine block water jacket, oil coolers and exhaust gases to produce hot water or steam. This can then be used for heating, absorption chilling or other processes.
Finning (UK) Ltd is the sole Caterpillar dealer in the UK and Ireland, together leading the way by providing power generation solutions, including
- Diesel and gas generators for standby and prime power
- Combined heat and power (CHP)
- Anaerobic digestion (AD) and biogas solutions
We have experience of designing, packaging and commissioning CHP packages for numerous district heating schemes, combining highly efficient Cat gas engines with our own engineering expertise, to deliver energy efficiencies as high as 80%.
Commissioning is a critical stage in the life of any project. Our complete commissioning services play an important role in minimising risks and ensuring all equipment is checked and all procedures are completed before the system is handed over to the customer.
Through a series of vital checks undertaken before operation begins, we’re able to prove the integrity of all equipment, identifying and correcting any issues along the way. Our comprehensive approach helps our customers meet a host of challenges that may arise from a project's very beginning, such as cost control, safety and environmental compliance, and operational performance..
Finning has a nationwide team of experienced service engineers, backed up by a remote monitoring desk manned 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, supporting the power systems throughout its lifetime.
