OPRA Turbines (OP-timal RA-dial Turbines) was established in 1991 by Jan and Hiroko Mowill to develop a new high performance turbine engine with low emissions, ideal for the industrial CHP markets and changing environmental regulations.

OPRA Turbines is now a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced radial gas turbines and gas turbine powered generator sets in the 2MW power range. The OPRA OP16 gas turbine benefits from a simple and flexible design providing robustness, reliability, class leading efficiency and low emissions. It is well suited for power only and combined heat and power applications within the oil & gas, bioenergy and industrial markets.

Recent developments have extended fuel flexibility with a range of new combustors including a low calorific fuel combustor. The OP16 generator sets have enjoyed market success worldwide with over 130 units sold the past 10 years. Headquartered in Hengelo, the Netherlands, OPRA Turbines has sales offices in Amsterdam, Singapore and Moscow which are supported by a global agent and distributor network.
