The Bunhill Energy Centre and heat network, supplied by a 2MWe gas CHP engine and a 115m3 thermal store, was launched in 2012 and serves over 700 homes as well as two local leisure centres on the fringe of the City in the borough of Islington.

The network provides cheaper, greener heat to local residents, working toward the Council’s commitment to tackle fuel poverty, and reduce energy bills in the borough.
Phase 2 of the scheme is already under construction expanding to supply an additional 450 council homes.
