Glennmont Partners are one of Europe’s foremost Fund Managers investing in sustainable energy generation, with assets under management across Europe worth more than £1.5bn, nearly £0.5bn of this being assets in the UK. Our investors comprise institutional investors, a number of which are local authority pension funds.
We are proud that our investments promote the reduction of CO2 emissions from the power sector, provide employment in the construction, and operational phases and provide an income for pensioners from their operation. We also support various community initiatives in many of the areas where we have investments.
In the UK, we have four investments in renewable generation – biomass plants in Lincolnshire, Teesside and South Wales, and a windfarm in Lancashire. Our Sleaford Renewable Energy Plant (pictured) in Lincolnshire is fuelled primarily by straw; it generates enough power to supply 65,000 homes and saves 150,000 tonnes of CO2 per annum. As well as generating electricity, the surplus heat generated by the plant is harnessed and used for heating the town’s public swimming pool and bowling centre, the town’s football club, a local Primary School and North Kesteven District Council’s office in the town. This heat is provided free of charge.
