Dr Joanne Wade receives OBE for services to Energy Efficiency

 The OBE was presented by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace today.

Dr Wade will take the role of Deputy Director at the Association for Decentralised Energy (ADE) as part of the merger of the ADE and the Association for the Conservation of Energy (ACE) where Dr Wade is currently CEO.

Dr Wade has advocated throughout her career for the benefits of energy efficiency and her experience, knowledge and dedication will add immeasurable value to the ADE and its members when she joins the team.

About Dr Wade

Dr Wade is CEO at the ACE. She has previously worked at environmental consultancy Impetus Consulting, at the University of Oxford’s Environmental Change Institute and for Price Waterhouse in the energy division of their consultancy business.

 She is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Imperial College London, a Fellow and Council Member of the Energy Institute, and chair of its Energy Advisory Panel. She is also Vice President of the European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy and an Advisory group member for the Centre for Innovation and Energy Demand at the University of Sussex.

 In November 2017, it was announced the ADE and ACE were to merge and that Dr Wade had accepted the role of Deputy Director.

 Dr Wade’s career achievements include Chairing Eaga Charitable Trust, at a time when the Trust was funding early research into the health impacts of fuel poverty, and leading the first large scale European study of the employment impacts of energy efficiency investments. She is committed to the development of young energy professionals, teaching on MSc courses at Imperial College London and the University of Surrey.
