The ADE has announced its new President: Lord Duncan of Springbank
Former UK Government Minister and MEP, Lord Duncan was recently Minister for Climate Change, and led the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in developing a response to the global climate challenge and domestic Net Zero Carbon commitment.
During his time in this role Lord Duncan also oversaw work addressing clean heat, the roll out of smart meters and international climate change policy; while in Brussels as an MEP, one of the areas he campaigned on was the Emissions Trading Scheme.
Ian Calvert, CEO at the Association for Decentralised Energy said,
‘We are thrilled to have Lord Duncan on board. I know that his breadth of experience and knowledge, coupled with his passion and commitment to addressing climate change are going to be highly valuable assets for the ADE.
Next year is a crucial one for the UK ahead of COP26, it is vital that we show global leadership and there is much work to be done to ensure that we continue our journey to net zero by 2050. We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Lord Duncan and are looking forward to the future!’
