The ADE is delighted to be partnering with New Anglia Energy and Squire Patton Boggs to host this event, exploring fresh thinking on net zero and its governance
With a clear political majority secured, a binding legal target in place and a clear consensus from the election campaign for urgent action to address climate change, the new parliament must hit the ground running.
To help this process and to try to develop some much needed momentum, the ADE and New Anglia Energy are partnering with Trilemma’s Simon Skillings to host a discussion forum on a new framework for the delivery of net zero.
We will be helped by two exceptional industry figures: Professor Catherine Mitchell of Exeter University, who will deliver the keynote speech, and Laura Sandys, who was the well-deserved recipient of the industry champion award at the 2019 Utility Week awards.
Following the keynote address, the panel sessions will explore the need to reinvent policy, its governance and the delivery framework. Simon Skillings and Nigel Cornwall will separately run two panel sessions looking at both top-down and bottom-up delivery structures, as well as the need to think outside the box as we move forward. Laura will explain the imperative of building understanding and engagement enabled by data and new market model.
