International legal practice Osborne Clarke has advised Santander Corporate & Commercial on a £10.6 million loan to P3P Partners LLP (“P3P”), a supplier of combined heat and power (CHP) energy solutions, to support the construction and operation of a new build energy centre in Selby, Yorkshire.
The centre is being built to support one of the UK’s largest tomato and pepper growers, which supplies nearly all UK supermarkets, and will sit adjacent to an existing 14.5-hectare commercial glasshouse.
The new centre in Selby will produce heat and CO2, which is sold to the glasshouse, and electricity which is exported to the national grid.
The Osborne Clarke team was led by Energy and Utilities Sector Leader and Partner James Watson.
James was assisted by Partner Alistair Curzon and Associate David Smith (both financing), Partner Carl Thompson (construction), Associate Directors Deborah Harvey and Charlotte Walker (real estate) and Associate John Webster (planning). Senior Associates Alex Underwood, Amy Stray and Duncan Parker and Trainee Solicitor Matthew White also acted on the transaction.
