The innovation partnership opportunity is now live and available to view online here. This ground breaking approach to procuring and developing deep retrofit solutions aims to unlock up to £10bn of market potential and kickstart large-scale, whole-house retrofit for homes across the country. The innovation partnership brings together housing providers and suppliers to help transform the scale of retrofitting the UK’s aging, inefficient housing.
The big retrofit opportunity
The drive towards net zero homes is receiving ever-growing Government support, with funding through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund pilot (£50m) and the full fund (£3.8bn) to follow soon after. This gives much needed certainty that retrofit is here to stay and that it will grow exponentially over coming years.
With that in mind, four UK housing providers have already signed up to the first tranche of IP schemes, with a further four already gearing up to join the second tranche, and more to come in following tranches.
Creating a market
The innovation partnership is set to create a market for performance assured whole house net zero energy home retrofit by nurturing the development of pioneering solutions to meet growing demand, while allowing for learning opportunities and minimising risk for those involved.
Technical support to build the a pipeline of demand, foster innovation, and enable collaboration is supported through the Mayor of London’s Retrofit Accelerator – Homes, a cutting-edge programme jointly funded by the European Regional Development Fund and provided by Turner and Townsend and Energiesprong UK.
The innovation partnership is now open to submissions and they are keen to hear from a diverse range of suppliers.
Up to 10 suppliers will be able to join the innovation partnership - they welcome bids from SMEs, consortiums, and large corporations.
The submission deadline for supplier qualification is 11 December 2020.
