Exergy3 - Annandale Distillery

Annandale Distillery is pioneering one of the world's first zero-carbon whisky. Thanks to a £3.6m UK Government grant, this Dumfries and Galloway distillery is producing low-carbon spirits.

The groundbreaking system, developed with Exergy3, captures surplus green electricity at night. It converts this into intense heat stored at up to 1300°C, which then powers the distillery’s boiler - replacing natural gas entirely. This allows the site to run seven days a week on renewable energy. Annandale is setting a new global standard, showing how cutting-edge technology can decarbonise production and secure a greener legacy for Scottish whisky.
