SSE - Royal Woolwich Arsenal

At the former Royal Arsenal munitions site in Woolwich, a historic riverside location has been reborn as a thriving new urban village, powered by an innovative and sustainable energy network. Since 2007, an on-site Energy Centre has supplied efficient heat and power to hundreds of new homes and businesses, eliminating the need for individual gas boilers.

This clever system delivers reliable, low-carbon energy through a district heating network, giving residents control over their comfort while reducing the development’s environmental impact.
