Vital Energi - Leeds Pipes

Leeds PIPES (Providing Innovative Pro-Environment Solutions), is a landmark heat network project with national recognition that covers approximately 30km of pipework. The network currently has over 4,100 homes, commercial and public buildings are seeing heat be delivered at lower costs, tackling fuel poverty, and a seeing s reduced carbon footprint.

The project has seen a growth in opportunities to engage with local schools and colleges, helping to bring awareness and understand of heat networks and the potential they hold. The scheme has seen 430 local people, including 36 apprentices, employed in the low-carbon sector. The network operates at 12MW of its 33NW capacity, with great opportunities for future expansion.
