ADE Analysis: Heat Network Growth Curve & Supply Chain Modelling for the Greater Manchester Combined Authority
Greater Manchester has the potential to increase the heat it receives from heat networks by 22 times over the next 30 years and bring in £18bn in capital investment. With zoning coming into force in the next couple of years, the key factor in whether this level of uptake and investment is achieved will be whether the public sector and businesses have sufficient funding to decarbonise their buildings now, or whether this will happen later. Decarbonising later would likely lower this investment and set it back by more than a decade, if not reduce it all together.
